I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, and some of these mistakes have created for me my greatest learning experiences. I've paid the price, I've done my time and now it's time for the next generation to create the future.
I've been an entrepreneur for more than 25 years and spent the last 13 working with people to design their lives from a position of strength.
What it means to engage with me - I will ask more of you than you would yourself.
At the most basic level, you will get access to my "recipes for life" - they are not advice, they are distinctions and lessons from the school of hard knocks and result of the many gifts of struggle from the universe.
At a higher level, I will give you honest feedback and sometimes maybe things you might not like to hear.
I know that none of us has figured it all out. But we are doing our best.
I will be on your side, though it might not always seem that way.
I will create for you an experience, and sometimes you might not like me.
But most of all, I am committed that you live your best life.
And have a heck of an amazing ride.

Why Kampung Kid?
"Kampung" is a Malay word that means "village". Where kids play in the sand, chickens run loose, fish are caught from the pond and fruit come off trees.
It's about going back to the basics and remembering the important things and the things that matter. It's about people who rallied together to create a safe environment in the wilderness and continue to keep each other safe.
"Balik Kampung" is an endearing phrase used to describe "going home". Where it is warm and safe, where we can be whoever we are, where we can dream. Where life is simple.
And in the end, despite the many cycles that pass, and the experiences that we accumulate, each of us remain the kid inside.

Adrian Koh
I first met Doug in 2019 in one of the masterclasses. He is the kind of guy who always asks that one question that I hate to answer. But it’s also in answering that question that allows me to break through.
Back then, one of the things that came up was the legendary Money & You that I had heard so much about but was facing a dilemma. He just asked me one question (without giving me the answer) and I got my clarity back on track.
And even on matters relating to personal relationships, it’s the same as well.
The questions he asked will set me thinking and dig deep into my real self.
In short, he’s not the guy who will say what you wish to hear. He’s the guy who is going to tell you what you kinda know but didn’t feel like facing it.
And that has made the difference for me.

I experienced Douglas as a participant of "Crack your Strengths Quotient" during 2018. It was 3 days of experiential moments that opened possibilities for me.
In that time I observed that he has an ability to be highly focused on developing awareness of my own unique recipe of success, and challenged me to look deep into how my value to date made a difference. In many ways, his process gave me a reason to follow my own path and be happy about it, regardless of the outcome.
I like how he identified his experiences with his knowledge and make it all real to bring home the learning. He communicates very well as a trainer and coach.
One thing that I miss is the many "Ah-Ha" moments during class! He gently but stoically helps us realize that we are all-powerful in our own areas and uncovered the gems that have been there all along.
Douglas will not be easy on his students as a coach, but good coaches do that. He understands that results come through work. He is here to listen, guide and give us the structure and knowledge to develop ourselves in the process. All our outcomes will be different, but he will push us to find an outcome that is perfect for us. Trust him to do that for you, it will be worth it.

Douglas is a mentor that pushes you in the areas where you didn’t even know you needed to work on. So during my journey, what he did was sometimes perplexing and made me wonder where he was heading, but I trusted him and it made sense in the end. He has helped me learn to let go of judgement and practice accepting myself for who I am.
And Douglas WILL push you and ask you hard questions, but only as far as you are willing to be pushed. This really ties in with his idea that each person’s growth is truly their own responsibility. Yet, through the growing pains, you can feel that his guidance is authentic and comes from a place of wanting you to be a better version of yourself yesterday.
His is a wonderful mix of heart, soul, and tough guidance.

I have known Douglas for close to 8 years, and I am thankful for the various programmes that he and his team created. The programme that impacted me the most was the Epic Life Challenge. In this programme, I was introduced to new concepts and had received coaching from him directly. He empathized and connected with me as a person. Though I felt insecure and lost at that point, he guided me in kindness, patience and being reassuring. He was sharp to point out my blind spot, but he did not always give me solutions to my problems. The first time I started to notice Douglas was after Money&You class back in Apr 2018. I have attended many of his follow-up classes after my Money&You.
I am used to staying silent, preferred not to speak and express myself. I had never believed in myself that I can convey my message well. Never, until the day I step into his "Crack your Strengths Quotient" class. I saw a weakness in one of the games that we played and shared that awareness with the class. Douglas saw the opportunity and lead me into seeing my strength of influence.
This was a pretty overwhelming discovery for me. A reality that has been living with me all my life, and yet I couldn't see it. I didn't see it the way he sees it. He saw it way before me.
This new awareness has helped me gain strong self-confidence. I started to become more conscious, and it leads to improving me to become a better version of myself.
Douglas has also created social platforms. A community space to provoke us with opportunities to ask clarifying questions. We get to discover more stuff about ourselves. We can also get a better understanding of other friends who are different from us too.

Douglas has a style of sharing that resonates with me. He uses stories, his own experiences, principles, challenges me to explore the unthinkable, sometimes seemingly impossible, and yet he doesn’t tell me what to do and leaves it to me to take responsibility for my own life.
When I first took his group mastermind class 5 years ago, (this was right after Money & You), he helped me to reassess where I was at in life and helped me to step out of my comfort zone to embark on an exciting journey and into the unknown. I still remember the phrase that stuck with me was, ‘what if you burn the bridge?’. He wasn’t speaking to me directly, it was directed towards the group of us but yet it stayed with me for weeks, and finally, it pushed me to take the previously inconceivable step into the unknown, and I left my banking job of 20 years and starting my own business.

I met Douglas nearly 3 years ago for Money & You. His life journey and his living the Money & You principles enabled me to see how small my reality box was then. By the time I attended Crack Your Strengths Quotient, my world view was again widened on how direction and perspectives on life could be.
